WHAT WE OFFER

Mind-Body Services in Virginia Beach

COUNSELING

Counseling at pear uses Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support women experiencing Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). For other conditions, including traumatic birth experiences and other trauma related conditions, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is used and sometimes in combination with the above therapies.

COACHING

Not everyone wants or needs a clinical diagnosis. Coaching at pear offers a trauma-informed, holistic path for navigating identity shifts, burnout, or big transitions. It’s high-quality mental health support grounded in clarity, care, and your own inner wisdom

Meet Jessica

JESSICA HUGHES, LCSW, E-RYT 500, RPYT

Jessica is the founder of pear, a licensed psychotherapist specializing in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), EMDR-trained trauma counselor, and registered prenatal Yoga teacher with over two decades of experience supporting women, children, and families. 

After walking through her own postpartum depression and anxiety, she envisioned a place where women could receive the care she once longed for…clinical expertise blended with compassion, Yoga, and soul-centered support. pear is the realization of that vision.
